The architecture of the East differs significantly from that of the West. At the same time, this concept is so capacious that it unites many original and unique ramifications. This is a mysterious fairy tale that strikes the imagination with an abundance of worldviews and cultures. The widest range of views from the luxury and wealth inherent in the Arab sheikhs to the highly artistic philosophical performance, loved by the emperors of Zhongguo. At the same time, blacksmithing and cast products are used, but not as widely as in the improvement of European cities.
One of the oldest trends in architecture, originated in the 3rd century BC on the territory of Mesopotamia and gradually evolved, acquiring diversity in the Persian, Ottoman, Central Asian and North African offshoots, while giving birth to such magnificent creations as the Taj Mahal in Agra, famous for the gardens of the Generalife and the Alhambri in Spain.
And although the oriental style united the national characteristics of different states, they must be considered separately, since they are very different. Moorish was influenced by the Spanish in North Africa, where priority was given to the construction of spacious rooms of regular symmetry, located in open space, as in the Mesquite and Giraldo. There are minarets with precise and precise geometry, large courtyards with fountains and washbasins, bright colors and honeycomb vaults of buildings. Subsequently, architectural canons were applied in the Arabian sultanates. In Persia, now Iran, the most common were tombs and fortresses. In India and Pakistan, which were greatly influenced by Islam, temples and mausoleums were built. Byzantine town planning became famous for its complex structures with powerful walls and massive domes. Artistic forging and carpentry are endowed with a special purpose, because rich decoration was at the forefront. Luxurious carved fences with rich patterns of curling vegetation, ethnic patterns and calligraphy of the Arabian Peninsula, as well as acanthus sheets, often made of non-ferrous metals or with the use of gilding. Such wrought-iron decorations were the hallmark of any palace in the past, but they do not lose their relevance today. Not to mention the decor or furnishings. Every detail should tell about the strength and power of the owner.
In the modern world of design, Chinese and Japanese stylizations have become popular. In them, the main elements are considered to be wooden columns on a concrete floor, arches and roofs with rounded edges, decorative accessories created with an ornate asymmetry of forms.
The structures in the Celestial Empire and the Land of the Rising Sun are significantly different. The second important place is occupied by harmony and convenience, so that each thing, each stone has its own position, with the minimalism characteristic of the Japanese and the colorful interior decorations of the Chinese. The Chinese interior is considered the personification of the temperament and extravagance of its owner, it is filled with solemnity and prosperity, in which there are no boundaries. The items are made in a style that is natural for this people, with special plant motifs, made of natural materials. The forged gilded fences amaze with the splendor of lines and extraordinary ornamentation, in which the images of dragons and other mythical animals are of great importance, the numerous presence of hieroglyphs and inscriptions with wishes, to which the inhabitants of the Celestial Empire assign the most important role.
In contrast, functionality is valued in Japanese homes. All products are made from natural raw materials, a lot of wood and paper, handmade hot forging with simple patterns and shapes. The essence of tradition reflects the nation’s striving for contemplation with their characteristic religious philosophy.
Tatar architecture is famous for its long balconies on supports, wrought iron gates and trellises. We can see such examples in Kazan in the stone mosques with high towers in which the khans are buried. Such buildings have always been magnificently decorated with precious mosaics and pearls.
The Asian style is amazing in its diversity, it is built on contrast and does not tolerate half measures. Brightness and symbolism are its main distinguishing features.
